The faculty of Business Economics, capacity group Quantitative Methods, research group Logistics of Hasselt University seeks a (m/f) PhD student Logistics
Background
The research group Logistics is looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial colleague to do doctoral research. This research group focuses on the simulation and optimisation of problems of practical relevance concerning distribution logistics.
Job content
The candidate will do research, write and publish research papers, attend international and national conferences and contribute to these conferences with the purpose to write a doctoral dissertation. Examples of topics for the PhD are city distribution, logistics in health care and rich vehicle routing problems. The topic will be defined together with the promoter of the PhD. The candidate will be part of a dynamic research group with national and international contacts. He/she will take part in the Doctoral School of Behavioral Sciences & Humanities. Furthermore, the candidate may be deployed for a limited educational task.
Profile
* Master in applied economics, business engineering and business informatics (or equivalent). Final-year students are (likewise) encouraged to apply.
* You have a critical attitude as a researcher.
* You dispose of outstanding problem solving capacity.
* You dispose of very good communicative skills.
* You are cooperative and can work well in teams.
* You have a good knowledge of Dutch and English.
* You work independently and result oriented and you dispose of excellent organisational skills.
Offer
You will be appointed and paid as Phd student.
Doctoral grant for four years (on the condition of a positive evaluation after 2 years).
