Abstract

The aim of the environmental impact report for the High Speed Train through Belgium is to compare the environmental effects of all its possible locations. Because such an analysis covers a wide range of aspects multicriteria analysis is used to aggregate the effects. Because of mixed data and ordinal priorities a new method (the average value ranking method) has been developed. In this paper, the methodology is described andillustrated.
