Reliability prediction of a standby system with imperfect switch-over

Abstract

This paper derives the mean time and the Laplace-Stieltjes transform of the distribution of the first time to system failure for a two-unit standby redundant system which is connected to m components in series. It has been assumed that the switch-over is not perfect and after repair a unit recovers its function perfectly.
