Dear colleagues,

We would like to invite you to the LIM seminar on demand-responsive public transport on the afternoon of January 12, 2024, in Leuven (Belgium). Dilay and I organize this seminar on the occasion of the public defense of her PhD, together with the KU Leuven Institute for Mobility (LIM).

When demand for transportation is low or highly variable, traditional public bus services lose their efficiency and often frustrate (potential) passengers. Different types of demand-responsive public transport (“Vervoer-op-maat” in Dutch) may now take actual demand into account and adapt bus routes and/or timetables in much shorter time frames to offer a more flexible service than traditional public bus systems.

During the seminar, presentations on demand-responsive public transport will be given by international experts, both from academia and practice. The target audience are people from practice and academia, working on (demand-responsive) public transport or related planning problems.

All information and registration is available here: https://www.mech.kuleuven.be/lim-seminar-2024

The seminar is free of charge, but registration is required for catering purposes. Please register as soon as possible (and certainly before January 4, 2024).

Feel free to forward this invitation to possibly interested colleagues, from academia and/or practice.

This seminar is supported by “meet-the-jury” of the Flemish Government and ORBEL, the Belgian OR society.

Kind regards,

Dilay and Pieter
