Simulating a queueing system for distribution of beverages in a brewery

Abstract

This paper reports on a simulation project, which we undertook at a brewery in the neighbourhood of Antwerp. The aim of the project was to design a simulation model of the queueing system for loading and unloading trucks for transportation of beverages. The management currently uses the model to support long term as well as short term decisions.
