 Abstract:
We focus on the design of multiproduct chemical batch plants, which are typically equipped with parallel production lines. The aim of this optimisation problem is to determine the optimal number of lines to install, their design and the resulting product assignment to these lines. We present a preliminary version of the solution approach developed, which is based on local search techniques.
