An Caris, Kris BraekersOperational Effects of Variations in Service Level Criteria for the Dial-a-Ride ProblemThursday 11:15-12:30
 Abstract:
A dial-a-ride system is an application of demand-dependent transportation, often focusing on people with specific needs. The service provider attempts to create efficient vehicle routes to satisfy all requests, taking into account specific service level criteria. This study quantifies the operational effect of varying these criteria. Its magnitude and pattern is analyzed, both for the global dataset and for specific parts, created on the basis of user’s and service provider’s characteristics.
