  Abstract:
  A multivariate process can often be interpreted as a mixture of multiple source processes. Several applications require an estimate of the proportional contribution of at least one of these sources to such a mixture. To be able to estimate the proportional contribution of a source of interest to a given mixture, we need a formal representation of both the mixture and the sources. In a classical setting, where the represenations are points in some vector space, point estimates for the proportions are readily obtained. We generalize this case, to a setting in which the sources are represented by sets in stead of points. Here, one can only obtain an interval estimate for the proportions. We formulate (and solve) a quasi-convex opimization problem that can be used to obtain these interval estimates.
